“McDevitt could be described as the original Crocodile Dundee, due to his adventures… the author brings his knowledge of dangerous situations to the page.”
–Randolph Register, NY State
It’s not unusual for a young Irishman to head out and see the world.
What is unusual is for him to challenge a wrestler in a boxing and wrestling troupe, for a cash prize, when he ran out of money in Australia. He took a beating, but surprisingly, the owner of the troupe offered him a job. Subsequently, he joined three different troupes, travelling round the country for three years, taking on all comers at wrestling AND boxing, at which he became a highly competent. He earned the fighting name of ‘Russ Savage’.
He encountered many challenging situations, some potentially deadly:
After his Australian adventures E.J. ‘Russ’ McDevitt moved to Canada where he joined the Canadian Forces for 6 years, 3 of those with the NATO Brigade in Europe. During this time, he met his wife Marie and had 6 amazing children. Russ went on to build a career in the life insurance industry, in various roles, and as a life and business coach.
He has written 6 action novels, a personal Development Journal and is a motivational speaker. He has appeared on Irish TV (Late Late Show) and Canadian TV a number of times.
He now lives in BC, Canada with his wife Marie.
